Accepting bookings from 24 August 2026

Booking

Book your AMSA STCW medical.

Tell us when and where suits you, and a member of the clinic team will call to agree a time. You can also ring or email the clinic directly.

Note

How booking works right now

There is no live calendar yet, so nothing on this site holds an appointment. You tell us your preferred clinic, day and time, and the clinic team rings to agree a real one. That also means someone checks whether you need a first time chest X-ray before you pay, rather than after.

Your consent form and the AMSA medical questionnaire come after that call. You complete both yourself.

Which pathway applies to you

Booking for myself

You are the applicant or seafarer

Use this when you are arranging your own AMSA STCW medical and paying for it yourself.

Request an appointment

Or contact the clinic

Employer or company booking

You are arranging medicals for seafarers

Use this when you are an employer, maritime operator, crewing company, recruitment agency or authorised company coordinator.

Request appointments for seafarers

Or contact the clinic

There is deliberately no general option to book on behalf of someone else. A seafarer must personally complete their own questionnaire and sign their own consent.

What happens next

From enquiry to appointment.

  1. Tell us what suits you

Use the form to give your preferred clinic, day and time, or ring the clinic. If you have a mobilisation or joining date, say so, because it changes how we schedule you.

  2. We confirm your appointment

A member of the clinic team will arrange a time with you and confirm the fee, including whether the chest X-ray for a first AMSA medical applies to you.

  3. Complete your forms

You will receive the combined consent and release form and the AMSA questionnaire. Both must be completed before you attend, and you complete them yourself.

  4. Attend with original identification

Bring an original current passport or Australian driver licence, along with everything else on the preparation checklist.

Before you contact us

Three things are worth checking first, because each of them can cost you an appointment.

Important

First AMSA medical? Leave time for the chest X-ray

AMSA requires a chest X-ray for anyone entering the maritime industry for the first time, and it has to happen at least 3 business days before the medical because the assessment cannot proceed without the result. Marlu Health issues the referral and helps you book it.
